Meister Eckhart - An Introduction
Meister Eckhart
(1260-1327) was a Dominican friar from Germany. He is one of the best
known of the Christian mystics. His
ideas were condemned by the Church. Eckhart emphasized that one must strip
the mind of all active thoughts and images in order to obtain mystical
experiences. Eckhart taught that through mystical experiences one would
know the "Eternal Word of the Soul."
