The Rosicrucian Fellowship - An Introduction
The
Rosicrucian Fellowship is an international association of Christian
mystics. In the thirteenth century a high spiritual teacher with the symbolic
name Christian Rosenkrenz (the Christian charged to explain the mysteries
of the Cross) appeared in Europe. As a symbol of this mystery the Rose
was added to the cross. Rosenkrenz founded the mysterious Order of Rosicrucians
with the object of throwing occult light upon the misunderstood Christian
religion and explaining the mystery of Life and Being from the scientific
standpoint in harmony with religion. The messenger of the Rosicrucian
Order and the founder of the Rosicrucian Fellowship is Max Heindel. Mr.
Heindel was born in Denmark on July 23, 1865, and later emigrated to the
United States. For several years Mr. Heindel studied metaphysics, searching
for spiritual knowledge.
In 1907, one of the Elder Brothers of the Rosicrucian Order made contact
with Mr. Heindel on the physical plane; then, in the etheric Temple of
the Rose Cross, the Elder Brothers imparted to him the greater part of
the teachings contained in The
Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception, which was published in 1909 and
is the main text of the Rosicrucian teachings today. The Rosicrucian Fellowship
was founded by Max Heindel in 1909, and has grown into an international
body, disseminating the Western Wisdom Teachings around the world and
preparing the Western people for the New Age of Aquarius.
The Rosicrucian philosophy is Christian, as taught through the medium
of occult or esoteric knowledge. The teachings provide accounts of the
nature of the visible world and of the invisible worlds, the evolution
of man, the nature of soul and the nature of spirit. The divine essence
of the spirit, the past, present and future evolution of man, and the
applications of the laws of Nature - Law of Consequence, Law of Rebirth,
for example - are the focus of the Western Wisdom Teaching, which is supported
by reason and logic, and also by the personal experiences of the aspirant.
