St. Teresa - An Introduction
Saint Teresa (1515-1582) was a mystic and reformer within the Carmelite
order, and was a contemporary of St. John of the Cross. After eighteen
years of troubled spiritual life, she underwent a spiritual transformation
and began to have visions and mystical experiences. Her works are consid-
ered some of the most powerful in Christian mysticism.
