Siddha Yoga - An Introduction
page 2

Through the pursuit of Siddha Yoga the inner conscious energy called kundalini shakti is awakened. Kundalini shakti is a great spiritual power that lies dormant within the body. Anyone who wishes to experience kundalini must do so with his own conscious body. He then tastes divine bliss and ecstasy. This is the secret of Siddha Yoga. The awakening of kundalini in the great initiation called Shaktipat occurs through the grace of the guru during a program of meditation called the Siddha Yoga Meditation Intensive. After initiation, a seeker is encouraged to practice Siddha meditation.

Siddha meditation is a very simple and easy process that consists of repeating a mantra given to the aspirant by the guru. With the practice of the mantra, the power of the kundalini unfolds in the seeker, which induces the state of meditation within the aspirant. In time the seeker goes deeper into his or her own being until the mind is purified, the emotions become clear, and eventually inner peace is attained. In the final stage of meditation the knowledge "I am complete and I am perfect" arises spontaneously within.
